As they grow, why do Jentla sites remain so fast?

With Jentla, only the currently published information is held on the Site.   All the other versions created during the content workflow are held on the Jentla Manager. Jentla sites don't get bloated with unpublished content, but instead remain lean, fast internet presences that deliver results.

What makes Jentla highly scalable?

To support more than one site, other CMS systems add new sites to the same database. Jentla creates separate, independent, free standing Joomla websites, each with their own database and file system connected to the Jentla Manager via webservices. As a result, the Jentla distributed architecture can scale and the sites have no single point of failure.

What is the difference between a multisite CMS and a multi-tenant CMS?

The simplest answer is a multisite CMS treats information as objects, which can be shared amongst multiple sites intuitively. It can create powerful relationships between sites and exploit the benefits of content sharing. Most CMS solutions are not capable of this level of integration. They are effectively multi-tenant systems with individual sites sharing the same database.

Can Jentla manage upgrades on remotely hosted Sites it controls?

Yes, Jentla can upgrade the Joomla installation on remotely hosted sites it controls as long as the permissions are correctly configured. Jentla can also manage upgrades of all extensions, language packs and templates.

Are there any core hacks made to Joomla to create Jentla?

No, we have built Jentla as Joomla Components. The multisite replication and secure communications layer are outside Joomla. Jentla requires no core hacks to Joomla.

Are the Jentla components based on pre-existing work?

We have to thank one of our partners, JXtended, for some of their components, Control, and Magazine which have been considerably extended in Jentla. We are going to be contributing back to the Joomla ACL core code.

Is Jentla Open Source?

Jentla is comprised of GPL licensed Joomla components and a proprietary management layer outside Joomla which handles the interactions between the Jentla Manager and the individual Joomla sites.
