We are facing a podcast Renaissance, marketer Rich Brooks believes. More and more people are enjoying the benefits of getting in their audience's heads. Literally. As we are never doing any single thing anymore, not without doing something else also ( running in a park, driving, surfing the web, listening to music, talking on the phone), is no wonder podcasting has become a trend.

Audioblogging, as it was originally called, has its roots in the '80, but has become more and more popular with the development of broadband internet and portable digital audio playback devices since the late 2004. Over 150 000 English podcasts are aired today, according to Wikipedia statistics and the numbers are still low.

There is room for a few more podcasters out there. Are you thinking about becoming the next one? Here are some tips to get you started perfectly:

Find the ability to entertain

Which is something that, basically, everyone has. Before putting your voice out there, think about what you would like to listen to ( concerning your product or not). Leave aside the nerves and stress of trying out something new and speak up, like you would do with your friends, calmly and sincerely. Remember how a group of people gets quiet once one of them is starting to say something interesting? Just as so, your listeners will pay attention.

Redirect to your blog and site

That shouldn't be the main reason why you are podcasting, but ,while you are there, there is no reason why you won't mention you blog's or site's name. This way your audience can get to know you better, understand where you come from and what is your podcast all about.

Interview whom you're interested in

Podcasts are a great way of finding out tons of data from the person's you are interested in : professionals from your industry or other types of experts and entertainers. Each interview adds value to your podcast presence and shows your listeners that your presence is certified and approved.

Get the Noteworthy gift

That is a great way in which iTunes acknowledges great podcasters lately. “New and Noteworthy” is the section most visible on the top two rows of the store screen. 8 weeks after your podcast's launching you are eligible to situate on this list, get bought and get busy.
