That's until Orange's idea of transforming tweets into real songs came along. Rockabellas group sang the users posts on the Orange UK feed.

Bringing authentic music to Twitter was a great idea for the company who managed to get more followers with this simple chirp concept.

Interaction was thought of by Diesel when launching the “I spy” campaign. By following clues posted on Twitter, users could win several pairs of jeans that were worn by people all through the town. Over 1400 new followers were attracted with this campaign and over 300 000 people were reached through re-tweets and replies.

 

SMS – Exchange texts for samples

It is one of the most effective but also intrusive ways of campaigning. Sending campaign SMSs to prospects can get them to buy, but can also drive them off if not properly managed. As writing the best message adverts is in the hands of the top marketing teams, getting SMS subscriptions is a problem many companies face.

Here are some smart ideas for getting your prospects to play along, start sending you messages and subscribe to your list.: A mobile call to action printed in magazines invited Aveeno's prospects to send SMS for free hair cosmetic samples. Ace Hardware, a retail-chain store in USA has sent free weather notifications to its customers. Receiving location based daily weather messages, conviced many users to subscribe to Ace's SMS list.

 

Mobile – Say goodbye with David Beckham

Simply watching a game on TV is not enough for most football fans today. The same need for entertainment makes them search for more fun, during the game, on their mobile devices. Heineken's Start Play application, launched during the UEFA Champions League Cup, was based on this presumption. It let fans play an online game which was updated in real time, as the application was reacting to what was happening on the field.

Using mobile technology to instantly interact to users was a strategy used in an earlier Motorola campaign. The “Say Goodbye” with David Beckham launched in Japan, allowed users to create goodbye messages to be shown on giant screens in airports. They could either send a photo and a message or let David Beckham record the message for them.

 

In the making

Ideas come by looking around, seeing others' ideas. Don't copy them, but put at least the same amount of passion into their making.
