Modules, a fast digest
Your site's appearance is a combined result of multiple elements arranging, thought to offer a complete Jentla experience. From main menus to recent news and quick links, almost any feature can be described within a module. Depending on the type of template chosen, some menus can be more or less available to you. For any particular demand or feature needed, Jentla's team can match you with a suitable solution.
The most important Jentla modules and their features are described in our documentation.jentla.com. To guide you through their most important properties, here is a list of a 5 module must-know insights:
-
Site Back-end administration
You can add modules, see the existing modules list, publish and unpublish modules from the site's back-end (accessing these options through your site). The Extensions menu guides you to Module Manager. 9 complete action buttons provide you with the paths towards getting things done within this manager. Create new, edit, duplicate, check in - are only some of these.
-
Easy to choose and switch
By clicking on the New module action button you are asked to choose the module type to be created. There are more than 30 module types to choose from. Depending on the templates existent in your Jentla option, you can choose between Joomla basic modules, modules specifically created for Jentla and extensions specific modules, created at our customer's requests that you can also use on your site.
-
Repeating fundamental fields
In the module creation process you've surely noticed some detail fields appearing on your new module page on the left side of the screen. These repeat without a change on each module's page. Their essential required information is Title, the Show/hide option for module title and the module's position on page. Please be advised that if you choose the same position for two modules, you may overide some existent information.
-
Personalized options
It's all in the type you choose. The parameters fields located on the right side of the screen let you personalize the number of users viewing your site ( for Latest news module), the slideshow transition options and dimensions ( for Slideshow module) or your article categories( for Jentla video or Jentla article modules).
-
Module list managing
Once you have all your modules set-up, you can view them all on the module manager page. Here you can order the modules list according to various filters( position, module type, pages) and change their status (from published to unpublished and vv.) by simply clicking on the “check” or denied” icons on Status column.
It's easy to organize and stay on top of your article publishing. Find out more about menus and categories, their differences and similarities, in our next blog.
