No one is that lucky
Some sites, companies, e-businesses seem to be more then successful online. Have you noticed? Ever wondered how do they manage to attract viewers' attention, what is the secret that places these few firms above the great majority?
Well, it's money most of all. Being able to invest in specialist advice and buy an advanced marketing system and also advertise online, all these represent great advantages.
Secondly it's relying on your online strategy – knowing who to sell to, when and where can online clients be found.
No matter which of the two you might use, success might still elude your online business. It's just the way Internet works, that's all. And you'd have to have a little luck too, to make it to the walk of fame.
Viewed right
Or at least that's the general opinion on social marketing. Don't you know any one who became famous overnight? That's how it happened : his/her post got viewed by the right person and shared with the right people, and so on. That's all that there is to it. Pure coincidence and luck.
Stuck unlucky
No, that can't be, many might say in act of disappointment. You also don't agree, not for the fact that you may not be included in the “lucky bunch” but because this categorization leaves you no choice, no action to be taken. You'd have to stand by and wait for the internet to bring the luck to you.
On the way out
Which might never happen : as you can see many advertisers believe in luck, and are currently stuck in a passive community, waiting to get out. Good news for them : wait no more. Forget about the “lucky examples” propagated all over. There all coincidences and your gut is right: no one is that lucky.
Are you jealous?
Forget about the numerous online myths, stop waiting for your fairytale to come true. Instead, rely on the known coordinates, like in the real world : obtaining something means working, creating good ideas, propagating them efficiently. Stop looking around with a jealous grim. Even those who go viral still have to work in order to maintain their popularity in time.
Making it big online means a lot of work. Period.
“Persistence becomes an essential element of good”, writes Seth Goldin. Also, “most people with a big idea, great talent and/or something to say don't get lucky at first”.
Have your say!
How is your online act? What do you find most difficult about keeping your focus?
